Safeguarding Policy for One Percent Training

Introduction

One Percent Training is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants in our training programmes, including in-person one-to-one training, group training, team training, and our online video training portal. This Safeguarding Policy outlines our commitment to protecting children, young people, and vulnerable adults who participate in our activities.

 

Our Commitment

We believe that everyone has the right to be safe, respected, and protected from abuse, neglect, and exploitation. We are dedicated to creating a safe environment where participants can thrive and develop their skills.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Coaches and Staff:

  • All coaches and staff members are required to undergo safeguarding training through the Football Association (FA).

  • Coaches and staff will adhere to the FA’s safeguarding policies and procedures.

  • Coaches and staff are responsible for promoting a safe environment and reporting any concerns about the welfare of participants.

2. Participants:

  • Participants are encouraged to speak up if they feel unsafe or if they have any concerns about their well-being.

  • Participants will be treated with respect and dignity at all times.

3. Parents and Guardians:

  • Parents and guardians will be informed about our safeguarding policies and procedures.

  • We encourage open communication between parents, guardians, and our coaches to ensure the safety and well-being of participants.

 

Safeguarding Procedures

1. Recruitment and Training:

  • All coaches and staff members are carefully selected and undergo background checks.

  • Coaches and staff must complete FA safeguarding training before working with participants.

2. Reporting Concerns:

  • Any concerns about the welfare of a participant should be reported immediately to the designated safeguarding officer.

  • The designated safeguarding officer is responsible for ensuring that concerns are handled appropriately and in accordance with FA guidelines.

3. Safe Environment:

  • We are committed to providing a safe physical and online environment for all participants.

  • Training sessions will be conducted in safe and appropriate settings.

  • Our online portal will be monitored to ensure the safety and security of participants.

4. Confidentiality:

  • All reports of safeguarding concerns will be handled with the utmost confidentiality.

  • Information will only be shared with those who need to know in order to protect the welfare of the participant.

5. Review and Improvement:

  • This Safeguarding Policy will be reviewed regularly to ensure it remains up-to-date and effective.

  • Feedback from participants, parents, guardians, and staff will be used to improve our safeguarding practices.
